New Beers in the Beer Cellar for Fall Foliage Season 2013

New beers in for fall foliage 2013

Ernest has updated his beer cellar again!

From smoked beers to doppel bocks .....

The authentic old world smoked beers from the Schlenkerla family brewery, are always popular. They are one of the oldest makers of smoked beers using the most ancient malting traditional methods and matured for months in historic cellars.  We have four...  the original Marzen, the Helles, plus the smoked wheat and smoked ur-bock.

Then there is a unique block beer, originally brewed by the monks since 1543. It is Germany's number one black beer.

Then there is the famous Ayinger doppel bock beer called Celebrator, ranked always in the high 90's.

On the lighter side is a hybrid beer, Kolsch, whose unique brewing style is protected by the city of Koln, Germany since the 1500's.

What if Disease is not what you think?

Are you ready for  "New Medicine"

There is a "new" medical paradigm called German New Medicine.

Ever wonder why there are so many variations in disease parameters and why the "germ" theory explanation of medicine just never seems to be to complete or satisfying??

Learn about "Nourishing Traditions"

Learn the "Nourishing Traditions" that kept and can still keep - generations of peoples healthy - truly.  No fads or "new" material - only researched and documented preparations of foods - most that we have forgotten or have never been taught - they have been lost though the last few generations of "convenience" foods. These preparations of real foods work with our physical bodies and provide them with nutrient dense foods.

This book is available for browsing and purchase here, in the Adirondack Nourished Market and 100 Mile Store, onsite at The Lake Clear Lodge, 6319 State Rt 30, Lake Clear, NY  12045

"This well-researched, thought-provoking guide to traditional foods contains a startling message: Animal fats and cholesterol are not villains but vital factors in the diet, necessary for normal growth, proper function of the brain and nervous system, protection from disease and optimum energy levels. Sally Fallon dispels the myths of the current low-fat fad in this practical, entertaining guide to a can-do diet that is both nutritious and delicious.
Nourishing Traditions will tell you:
  1. Why your body needs old fashioned animal fats
  1. Why butter is a health food
  1. How high-cholesterol diets promote good health
  1. How saturated fats protect the heart
  1. How rich sauces help you digest and assimilate your food
  1. Why grains and legumes need special preparation to provide optimum benefits
  1. About enzyme-enhanced food and beverages that can provide increased energy and vitality
  1. Why high-fiber, lowfat diets can cause vitamin and mineral deficiencies
Topics include the health benefits of traditional fats and oils (including butter and coconut oil); dangers of vegetarianism; problems with modern soy foods; health benefits of sauces and gravies; proper preparation of whole grain products; pros and cons of milk consumption; easy-to-prepare enzyme enriched condiments and beverages; and appropriate diets for babies and children."

Travel and Trip Advisors Reviews for Hohmeyer's Lake Clear Lodge

See   Reviews from    Bed and Breakfast.com

Our stay was amazing, Kathy and Ernest pleasantly helped us to enjoy every minute of our stay. The food and wine tasting was more then we would have thought to experience and then some. After we walked the wintery snow cover trails and gazed at the mountains over the lake. Arriving back to the cabin to sit by a beautiful wood burning fire place was the top of our peaceful and refreshing getaway. We will defiantly be returning again and this time for a much longer stay.

My husband & I enjoyed the last dinner of our honeymoon at The Lodge on Lake Clear. The place was a special combination of Adirondack Great Camp history & culture with Old World cuisine all twisted together for a unique experience. From the extravagant wine & beer selection, to the fresh ingredients in the tomato & basil soup, to the Wild-Caught pike with Rosti, all of the flavors were savory & melted in your mouth. My personal favorite was Kathy's attention to detail with gluten free ingredients. Her gf cornbread was the best I have ever had! This is definitely a safe place for gf diners. A few other highlights from the evening included walking down to Lake Clear at sunset, the friendly wait staff, & quiet candle lit dining room.

Reviews from many travel and trip advisor sites often influence the traveler's decision for where they end up booking.

Little known facts
1.  There are now "Trip Advisor" and review "fix it" sites and companies.  These companies guarantee that the hotel will have 4 and 5 star ratings if they purchase their service.

2.  The travelers that have real relationships with owners/staff rarely need to write on social sites, they send hand written cards and emails
